Welcome to Ancient Greece! In this unit, student groups will be assigned an Ancient Greek city state and be expected to:

2. Check out the following YouTube links as a brief introduction to Ancient Greece (care of BBC’s Horrible Histories, and MrDowling.com).
After watching, list as many ways as you can that the Ancient Greeks have impacted Western civilization. You may use library books as a reference as well.

LESSON FIVE: DEVELOPING AN EFFECTIVE SLOGAN
Watch this YouTube Clip about some of the most effective advertising slogans.
What makes these slogans so effective? Think about this as you develop your City State’s slogan.
Mrs. Ewing, our websites for our city-state isn’t due until Wednesday right?
I will collect your notes in your duotangs on Wednesday morning and begin marking the websites whatever state they’re in on that day. See you next week!
Thanks. One more thing, are we suppose to write our paragraphs in past tense or present?
Hmmmm…. Good question. Because you are pretending you belong to an ancient Greek city state and want to attract tourists, you should us present tense. Unless, of course, you are writing the history section – then it’s okay to use past tense.
